'Karelian' is a modular typeface I named after the Dutch graphic designer 'Karel Martens'. Each glyph in this typeface was made from 5 shapes (pictured below) which were derived from my visual research into his most famous pieces.
Karel Martens is known for his use of geometric shapes and bold colours. It was important for me that this typeface could represent that, even in just spelling his name.
